Can I install the Traffic Pro software system myself?
Yes, the Traffic Pro software installation procedure uses a step-by-step wizard installation process similar to other world leading software products.

Can I install the Traffic Pro hardware myself?
Yes, Traffic Pro sensors have a plug-and-play connector and are all low voltage. We use CAT5 cabling to connect the sensors to the Beonic Event Loggers or Counter Recorder devices. You do not need to be a qualified electrician or data-cabler to install this equipment. We have instructions on how to perform this in our manuals.

Do I need to use the Traffic Pro software?
No, The Counter Recorders and Event Loggers have built-in flash memory to store the information for later download. Each unit has an easy-to-read LCD display, which can be used to manually read the traffic information without any software. Some units have password protected displays to keep the information secure.

How can I achieve better results from the sensor?
Yes, a little planning for the location of sensors will help improve accuracy levels. We have included a adjustable sensitivity levels that can be fine tuned to filter out unwanted counts (such as hand-waving). We have instructions on how to achieve this in our manuals.

Will my Counter Recorder or Event Logger loose the date or time if it is turned off?
No, Counter Recorders and Event Loggers have a built in rechargeable battery, which will keep the clock going for at least 30 days. The clock/calendar is Leap Year compliant.

My PC has crashed and I have lost all my data - is my traffic data lost too?
No, the Counter Recorders and Event Loggers have flash memory that can store data for a reasonable period of time. The length of time is dependent on the memory capacity of the unit which is dependent on the model. Once your PC is up and going again, download the data again using the Traffic Pro software and the data will be restored.

I have Traffic Pro v1.x, v2000 or v3000. Should I upgrade?
As a consequence of releasing Traffic Pro V2.x, we have issued an End-of-Life date for Traffic Pro Software V1.x, v2000 and v3000 being the 31st December 2002. While your software will continue to function normally, it means that re-registration for this software will not be available after this date. However, an upgrade to the latest software version can be purchased from either Beonic or a Traffic Pro Sales Partner .

What is End-of-Life?
We have issued End-of-Life on Traffic Pro v1.x, v2000 and v3000 for the following reasons:

  • These older products are no longer developed, enhanced and maintained. They have been superseded with newer products that offer greater features, advanced reporting and better technology.
  • It is becoming increasingly difficult and inefficient to support clients on these older systems. To have all clients on recent software versions will streamline support and product initiatives, to provide an overall better service.
  • As you upgrade your operating systems, e.g. Windows 95 to Windows 2000/XP, we cannot guarantee that Traffic Pro 1.x, v2000 and v3000 will function properly, given that these products were not developed on or designed for the newer platforms. The benefits of upgrading to the latest products far outweigh the costs.

What are my Options my current version of Traffic Pro?
If your do nothing, your software will continue to function as normal provided you do not alter the Microsoft Windows operating system or add peripherals that have not been tested along side Traffic Pro software in any way. The risk is that should you require re-registration, it will not be available, thus placing your system and data in jeopardy. We strongly advise you to upgrade your software to our latest version which will provide your system with the desired stability, security and longevity that we mutually seek.

How do I go about upgrading to the latest software?
Beonic provides you with Traffic Pro product support for a period of 60 days after first registering your software with us. After this, you are not automatically covered with software upgrades or with technical support. However, we can offer you continued support by subscribing to a service on an annual basis we call Traffic Pro Extended Support subscription.

Are there any other benefits for subscribing to the Traffic Pro Extended Support subscription?
Beonic regularly updates the Traffic Pro software with new features, more functionality and patches. Most of these updates are included as a direct result of your feedback and our testing. The Extended Support subscription will ensure you benefit from the latest developments from Beonic.
