Beonic Partners with Adelaide Airport to deliver AI-Powered Innovation
Beonic, a global leader in AI-driven operational intelligence, is expanding its long-standing partnership with Adelaide Airport (ADL) to enhance performance across the airport’s international terminal.
The rollout of Beonic’s AI-powered LiDAR technology will provide real-time visibility into passenger flow, queue performance, and wait times, helping the airport manage growing operational complexity with greater precision. This makes it ideal for sensitive environments such as immigration halls, where privacy, precision, and compliance are paramount.
This move is part of Adelaide Airport’s broader commitment to operational innovation, as it continues to invest in intelligent technology to deliver seamless, easy and connected, for international travellers.
“As demand rises and traveller expectations evolve, Beonic is helping Adelaide Airport to focus on optimising the performance of key processing areas “, said Billy Tucker, CEO of Beonic. “Our AI-powered platform provides the critical insights that will allow the airport to reduce bottlenecks, improve staffing decisions, and enhance the overall passenger experience.”
Beonic’s solution leverages LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) to capture a 3D point cloud of the terminal environment, providing accurate, real-time analytics without capturing personally identifiable information. This makes it ideal for sensitive environments like immigration halls where precision, privacy, and compliance are essential.
“When you’re responsible for the smooth movement of thousands of people each day, you need more than assumptions - you need live data,” said Ben Leitis, Head of Terminal Operations at Adelaide Airport. “Beonic’s technology gives our airport the visibility to make operational decisions with confidence based on real-time information. It empowers our team to make fast, informed decisions to manage flow in real time, keep queues moving, and maintain a seamless experience our travellers expect, even when conditions shift.”
Beonic’s system will provide detailed insights across metrics including, queue occupancy and overflow,
passenger throughput rates, wait times through emigration, immigration and baggage reclaim.
This deployment builds on Beonic’s existing footprint at Adelaide Airport and reflects the airport’s ongoing investment in intelligent infrastructure to support growth, resilience, and passenger satisfaction. It also strengthens Beonic’s position as a trusted partner to leading airports across Australia and globally.
